Favorite Platform for CT?

I've been playing through Chrono Trigger again, this time on iPhone. I've only ever played the Super Nintendo version before, and I was kinda surprised, and not really impressed, by the anime cutscenes they added (were these in the DS and PS1 versions?)

I do like the touch controls though, swiping and tapping is faster than pressing buttons repeatedly to scroll through menus. And if you get tired of that, and want a good old fashioned d-pad, you can pair an Xbox One controller to your phone.

I also like the quick save feature (sort of a one-slot savestate), and I found screenshots easier to work with on mobile than on desktop.

Has anyone else played the game this way?

The cutscenes were added in the PS1 version. Same with a bestiary and other such.

The DS had the touch screen controls and a new translation.

Mobile took away the bestiary and kinda futzed with the graphics.

Steam has most of those graphics fixed (plus some mods were made to make it look exactly like the SNES version).

DS and Steam are my favorites, though.

I've only played it on an SNES emulator, and on Steam. I like that the Steam version is a lot like the SNES, but has some nice quality of life upgrades.
